Maybe you came to this page because you have fibromyalgia, or maybe you are thinking that you have fibromyalgia and want to learn more about it. Either way Fibromyalgia is not fun to deal with and can really mess with your quality of life. At Tauberg Chiropractic & Rehabilitation in Pittsburgh we understand that and want to help. The good news is that the treatments that we provide can effectively reduce your pain and improve your quality of life.
WHAT IS IT?
Is a widespread musculoskeletal pain that can be often be characterized as achy in nature. Along with this musculoskeletal pain, there may also be fatigue and sleep issues. Fibromyalgia is a poorly understood condition and it can be hard to find relief when you have it. There is, however, evidence that conservative therapies can effectively treat fibromyalgia.
WHAT CAN AN EVIDENCE-BASED PITTSBURGH CHIROPRACTOR DO?
An evidence-based chiropractor will perform an in-depth history and examination on you. With this information, a personalized treatment plan can be created to target the causes of your pain and discomfort. Often times treatment plans will include some of the following: myofascial release, trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercise, cryotherapy, thermotherapy, joint manipulation, and lifestyle modifications. Combining some of these treatments can be an effective way to reduce the amount of pain and discomfort one feels. As ones pain and discomfort are decreased they will be encouraged to become more active and to exercise. Activity and exercise has been shown to be effective for treating fibromyalgia. This creates a feedback loop in which you feel better so you can exercise more which will, in turn, make you feel even better.
At Tauberg Chiropractic & Rehabilitation in Pittsburgh our goal is to provide you top of the line evidence-based care. We do this by spending significant time with you getting to know you and your condition. If you want to start feeling better please give us a call at 412-517-8124.
